Jeanne Torres Blind Person of the Year 2006

The Blind Person of the Year 2006 Award was given to Mrs Jeanne Torres, a staff member of Ho'opono Services for the Blind.

Due to a retinal disease, Jeanne was blinded at an early age. Her address to the group was very inspiring. She talked about all the positive things in her life and now is a most capable member of the community. The Lions Club of Honolulu salutes her.

A special thanks to Lion Theron Chun who was in charge of the program. He coordinated the excellent lunch, program and entertainment. President Reynold Feldman and Vision Chairman Kin Ching presented Jeanne with a check and a talking watch.  Lion Theron is visually impaired and an inspiration to all of the Honolulu Lions Club members.

The Honolulu Lions Club and Ho'opono Services for the Blind have a special relationship to serve the visually challenged community.
