Bowling Social for the Blind
This past weekend we sponsored a bowling social at Aiea Bowl. The bowlers and LCH members had a terrific time! “The Alley” was very helpful and accommodative. Big mahalos to Aiea Bowl and their staff!!
Earlier in the week, LCH got a little airtime on the Perry & Price show on the radio! Perry & Price interviewed Lion Kyle and got a kick out of our idea to host a bowling social for our blind community. As it turned out, the bowlers had a ton of fun and it was quite evident from the laughter and excitement as the sounds of balls were hitting the pins!!
Lion Jack Schweigert was so very helpful “guiding” the blind, as they each took turns bowling. Curiosity and smiles spread to the public around us throughout the day, as they watched our in amazement. In addition to providing these individuals with a social event they do not normally have an opportunity to participate, it provided goodwill to the community around us, as to demonstrate the true capabilities of the blind. BTW, the high score was over 100+ and the lowest score was 86!! Not bad for the bowlers with little or not sight!
The afternoon was capped off with an onolicious meal at their famous restaurant!!
Thank you Lion Treston for the terrific pictures and Lion Shannon for your support!
